![]() Due to construction, service through Cheshire Bridge Road, WoodlandĪvenue, and Woodland Hills Drive will be temporarily discontinued until further notice. Weekend schedules will begin and end 5 minutes earlier. On weekdays, peak-period frequency is increased from every 45 minutes to every 20 minutes in the peak direction (southbound in the morning peak and northbound in the afternoon peak). Service in both directions will end 15 minutes earlier every day of the week. Southbound service will start 5 minutes later on weekdays and 10 minutes earlier on Northbound service will start 3 minutes later on weekdays and 8 minutes earlier on weekends. No change to schedule.įrequency is increased from every 45 minutes to every 40 minutes during all hours of service. Lowery Boulevardĭue to turn constraints, northbound service was recently re-routed to use Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard rather than York Avenue the existing detour is now the regular route. Please refer to the new printed service schedules, or the MARTA On The Go app for updated maps and specific trip times. Additional service will be added in the future as we continue to hire more bus operators, bus technicians, and more. This includes increasing weekday service on 19 bus routes where it was reduced due to staffing shortages. The exceptions would be when I need to head to the airport at or near rush hour (travel time on MARTA is more consistent than driving when you may get stuck in traffic for a half-hour or more), or when I expect to be gone for more than 3-4 days and the parking fees would mount up.MARTA is improving service on 24 bus routes. Also, the infrequent train schedule at night and the need to switch trains at Lindbergh in order to reach North Springs after 9 pm is a bit more than I have the patience for when I'm headed back home at 10 or 11 pm after several days on the road. I travel for work most weeks, usually flying, and I generally drive to the airport because I often need to catch flights before 8 am, and there's really no way to get to the airport in time for that on MARTA from North Springs. ![]() It's sort of a wash whether you get off at Sandy Springs or North Springs, as the cabs from North Springs have to head back down to Abernathy to get on 400 northbound anyway, so you're actually backtracking slightly. There's also a small cab stand there, and because of the way the exit from the cab area at North Springs is oriented, the drivers have to drive back south on Peachtree-Dunwoody to Abernathy, directly across from the Sandy Springs station (!) - so you pay extra to backtrack.Ĭab fare from North Springs to that location in Cumming would likely be around $45, plus tip. One final tip: if you do decide to take MARTA and then get a cab, don't bother going all the way to North Springs - get off at Sandy Springs. It'd be worth checking with the hotel to see if there's a shuttle service they recommend. Cab fare will be at least $80 - when I've arrived at ATL too late to take MARTA, meter is usually over $70 to get to my house, and as I said I'm several miles closer. Cab fare will probably be closer to $35 or $40 once you include tip - I'm several miles closer to North Springs than Windward, and when I've done that it's generally been around $30-$35 including tip. ![]() During the day, as others have said, you should be able to take the train to North Springs and then either catch a cab (there's always a couple at the cab stand there, even late at night) or take the bus to Windward if that is in fact the Marriott in question. I've had to get from the airport back to my home in Roswell without a car on several occasions.
